Biography

Werner Wittmann is a Principle/Director with General Oil Equipment and Amherst Stainless Fabrication (GOE-ASF) and has more than 40 years of experience in food and pharmaceutical processing.

He studied Chemical Engineering at the University of Cincinnati and worked in wastewater and oil refining prior to joining GOE-ASF. Throughout his tenure, Werner has worked in various roles including engineering, project management, technical support, sales, and general management.

He was a key member of the team that developed GOE’s line of spraying equipment and accessories. Starting with oil spray, he extended the applications to include oil & water-based slurries, sugar glaze, butter, preservatives, and non-stick coatings. They are used in cookies, crackers, snacks, bread, candy, and meat processing.

Under his leadership, the company has experienced remarkable growth, expanded its global footprint and diversified its product portfolio. Werner’s decision-making, industry knowledge, and commitment to customer relationships have solidified GOE-ASF’s position as a leader in the baking industry as well as in food and pharmaceutical equipment.

Werner’s tenure and contributions have earned him widespread recognition and respect within the industry. Participating in organizations such as the International Society of Automation (ISA), the American Bakers Association (ABA), the Bakery Equipment Manufacturers Association (BEMA), and the Biscuit and Crackers Manufacturers Association (BCMA), Werner remains at the forefront of emerging trends and collaborates with peers to advance the industry through education.
